Abstract:We build a complex synthetic model (BGP model) of the Chinese western mountain based on seismic, drilling, logging, and refraction data. The synthetic model is characterized by drastic change of surface elevation, severe lateral variation of near-surface velocity, and deep complex structure. Finite difference forward modeling of 3 synthetic data sets on this model is conducted. The results can be used to test the effect of processing methods for mountain seismic data, such as noise attenuation, static correction, Q absorption compensation and migration. It provides the reference for seismic data processing of Western China.
