Abstract:This paper briefly introduced the principle of using beam-forming filtering method to attenuate multiple from seismic data and the results of processing synthetic data.The procedure and results of using beam-forming filtering method to attenuate multiples in two data sets from deep sea area of South China Sea are discussed in details.In order to attenuate the multipies generated by coral riff which are strong and large in scope,we implement the beam-forming filtering method several times to attenuate the multiples in different ranges and obtain the optical results of relatively high resolution with a relatively small computational effort.The processing results show that beam-forming filtering method can attenuate some relatively very strong multiples generated by coral riff and enhance the relatively weak primaries.The example of deep water data from southeast Yin Basin that there are strong sea-bottom multiple shows that beam-forming filtering method can attenuate multiples very well at traces on both near and far offsets,and the results are better than that by using the conventional 2-D multipies attenuation method.
