Abstract:The paper introduced a method studying non-homogeneity of oil/gas-bearing reservoir based on high-order statistic of seismic data, the basic idea of which is to use high-order statistical parameters (torsion and kurtosis) in signal recognition and detection for processing and reconstruction of seismic records, and high-order statistical parameters of seismic data are able to provide detailed laterally changing information of reservoir. The model test showed that there is different high-order statistical feature in different structure of reservoir, and the lateral sensibility of high-order statistic is higher than vertical sensibility. The application results of practical data proved that sensibility of high-order statistic on lateral non-homogeneous change of reservoir is far greater than the inverted results of wave impedance, and predicted non-homogeneous rule of reservoir coincides with the reservoir position in known gas-producing and gas-nonproductive wells.
