Abstract:System for sorting and recognition of anomalies in multivariate field was developed using statistical analysis, pattern recognition and computer graph technique .The system consists of four subsystems, namely, preprocessing, anomaly sorting, statistical classification and graphic display.In use for geophysical and geochemical explorations, the system can process not only the multivariate field data which are distributed in a plane or along a Iine but also the irregular discrete sample data .The system has three functions:(1)the sorting of multicharacteristic samples, (2)outlining the anomalies on background field and (3)classification of area anomaly units.The system has been successfully developed using IBM PC/XT personal computer. with the use of menu and interactive technique, the system is high automatic, flexible and convenient for use.
