Abstract:The geophone spurious frequency is modeled as the resonance of the planer motion of spider spring by carrying moving mass.Analytic solution is solved by Castigliano method by assuming spring arm is a single mode vibrating cantilever beam,The spring shape is discussed by this analysis.Since the generally used spring has varied cross sections circumferentially,the Castigliano method is no longer handy,A dimensional analysis is studied as an approximate method for general design,Based on the theoretical result,a rotational fixture and translational fixture are designed for experiment.Low noise fixture and phase average technique provide the amplitude and spurious resonance in frequency domain,Finally,a test is run by using rotational fixture to compare with the approximate method of spurious frequency prediction.
