Abstract:By simulating ant foraging method and based on the fault attributes, the fault surface can be generated from disorder data volume in the fault automatic interpretation flowchart which was introduced in this paper. The novel algorithm takes less time and efforts than the traditional fault interpretation methods, and it can provide the interpreters with a basic cognition for the complete fault system in the initial period of the fault interpretation process, the exact steps to realize the algorithm were introduced in this paper, the suitable parameters in each step were summarized through the application of the new method in fault interpretation for Fangheting structure in Pinghu Oilfield, in the target zone, a Y shape low grade fault was delineated, the contradiction with the production performance in this area was effectively solved.
