Abstract:The major difficulty is the issue of detecting the first breaks for static corrections in complex surface conditions. The precision and speed of automatic detecting first breaks approach currently used for static corrections processing cannot adapt to such complex surface conditions. For that reason,the paper presented a new method of automatic first breaks pick-up based on the technique of image edge detection. Using the character of edge detection, the method first conducts the grey scale processing that makes it meet the condition of edge detection;then,using Sobel,Prewitt,LaplacianJI and Kirsch differential operators for edge detection,the experiments showed that the Kirsch operator is better for detection. The practical application showed that the method not only has strong ability of anti-interference,but also has significant improvement in both precision and speed of detected first breaks.
