Abstract:In J oil field.Jiangsu. 1991.a comprehensive experiment of electric survey methods was made to ascertain feasibility of new electric survey technique in hydrocarbon bearing structure exploration, and to determine both geological electric models of major hydrocarbon accumulations in J oil field and their abnormal effects in surface electric survey. Magnetotelluric (MT ), Audiomagnetotelluric (AMT ) and controlled source audiomagnetotelluric (CSAMT) methods were tested to research into formation and structure. Induced polarization (IP)and spectral induced polarization (SIP) were adopted to discover hydrocarbon accumulations directly. The comparison shows that the geologic structure and hydrocarbon accumulation which have been with those discovered by 3D seismic.drilling and logging data. The paper briefly describes the basic principles.key skills and trial effects of CSAMT.IP and SIP.
