Abstract:The seismic data analysis by Fourier trans-form in short time windows is sleeping according tofixed time windows, and complex Morlet wavelet a-nalysis method has good local characters in timeand frequency domains. The Fourier transform ofcomplex Morlet wavelet is Gauss function that isband-pass filter with ideal characters, which can beused for accurate description of the reservoirs char-otters in analysis of seismic data. The paper dis-cussed the analytic approach of complex Morletwavelet, analyzed the property, computation of sig-nal spectrum and selection of central frequency woand parameter月of complex Morlet wavelet. Thetest of theoretical model and practical seismic dataprocessing showed the resolution of time-frequencyanalysis' results by complex Morlet wavelet spec-trum analysis was higher than that by short win-dow Fourier transform approach, and boundary be-tween the fractured reservoir and surrounding bedwas distinguish, which could finer describe the dis-tribution character of reservoir. The complex Mor-let wavelet spectrum analysis approach is suitablefor seismic data processing and interpretation ofcomplex fracture-developed carbonate reservoir
