Hydrocarbon detection technique and research in Three Lake Area of Qaidam Basin

Abstract:There is a huge potential in natural gas exploration in Three-Lake area in Qaidam Basin.In order to further conduct prediction studies for the gas reservoir in the basin,the frequency spectrum imaging,the attenuation gradient analysis,the AVO and the DIVA were used to detect the gas reservoir based on the analysis of the characteristics presented on seismic sections by natural gas reservoir.The detection results show that all the 4 detection techniques above are effective,eliminating the ambiguity and uncertainty in the hydrocarbon detection.
