Abstract:When light illuminates an image, the light shadows resulting from the concavities and convexities of the image can describe details of the image, The concavities and convexities of the image can be considered as the unsmoothed property (i. e. oddness) of the image function f(x,y). Seismic section is a kind of image, and its oddness assemblage has rich geological informations relating to thin bed, fault, figores of various geological bodies, and so on. As a result, we can say that illumitrance transform. We design a can be taken as a means for detecting such oddness. multi-resolution illuminance transform by combining mufti-resolution approximation of wavelet theory with the methord described in reference 4, 5. The application example shows that the transform method can be applied to oddness detection, seismic stratigraphic sequence analysis and high-resolution seismic data processing.
