Abstract:A new method for nonlinear frequency-divisional adaptive detection and sup- pression of noises has been developed to cope with high energy noises such as acous- tic wave, burst pulse and so on in seismic data. The new method includes some steps:1) taking the weighted mid value as parameter in each frequency band to automatically locate noise, 2)deriving a weighting curve from numerical relation between noise and signal, 3)attenuating noises, and 4)reconstructing seismic record. It effectively reduces distortion of signals to suppress various high energy noises. Application examples prove it adaptable.
