A method for sedimentary sequence cycle research by well-seismic calibration

Abstract：To distinguishing sedimentary sequence cycles, and recognize two-dimensional space change law and lateral extension, this article develops a method for sedimentary sequence cycle research by well-seismic calibration.Using wavelet depth-fre-quency analysis, single signals and composite signals of different milankovitch cycles are obtained by numerical modeling.Then, the composite signals by numerical modeling can be broken down into single signals of singe frequency cycle.A developed well-seismic calibration insertion technology calibrates spectrum characteristics of singe frequency cycle from well data to seismic sections.The vertical-horizontal two-dimensional space changes and distribution characteristics of spectrum cycles are figured out, which help to recognize regional sedimentary sequence cycle variations, underground strata structure, and contact relationships.
