Abstract:In the exploration and development of carbonate fracture-cave reservoir in Tahe Oilfield, identification of rich oil areas from weak reflection in strata is a hot spot at present. Based on its characteristics, we divide weak reflections into four types: weak bead-like reflection, wide trough, insider weak reflection and clutter reflection. Combining drilling and logging data with seismic data, we discuss reservoir characteristics of these weak reflections and build the geology model. Finally we present the formation mechanism of these weak reflections by forward modeling. We conclude that the thickness and spatial extension of reservoirs are the primary causes of these weak reflections.
