Abstract:China is the third largest country for onshore permafrost in the world.A large area of permafrost distribution in Tibetan Plateau possesses good formation conditions of natural gas hydrate.The natural gas hydrate physical samples were drilled for the first time in ML area in the South Qilian Basin in 2008.Based on the analysis of formation conditions of natural gas hydrate and its geophysical response characteristics,we have conducted 2D seismic experiments for gas hydrate exploration in HLH area in the South Qilian Basin with some key techniques,such as broadband digital sensors,small receiver interval,high fold,and broadband vibroseis.Good experiment results have been yielded,and some new observations have been obtained.
