Abstract:The incident velocity of P-SV wave is different from its reflection velocity. Its ray path is so asVmmetrical that the reflection point deviates from the common mid point, and its time-distance curve is not hVperbolic. As a result, P-SV wave can not be processed by using the conventional horizontal stack and poststack migration methods which are applicable to P-P wave. Even though the special technique for calculating the conversion point is used, quite big error will appear. The application of acoustic equation and phase-shift method to the prestack migration of P-SV wave can effectively resolve its kinematic problem and guarantee its image accuracy, So this method can solve the problems in stack and migration of P-SV wave.
