Abstract:Through analyzing of forming mechanism of gravitational detachment faults in tension stress field and combining with geologic structure of Shulu depression,the paper studied combination pattern of gravitational detachment faults in west slope,Shulu depression and then analyzed the control role of gravitational detachment fault on oil and gas.It is considered by analyzed results that the forward normal fault trap formed by down-dropped block of fault is combination of inverse-cycle's sendimentary rock;on the contrary,the inverse fault block trap formed by inverse compensation fault is combination of forward cycle's sendimentary rock,which all are prospective area for oil and gas accumulation. It is hoped that the results of the paper can play a reference in other depression exploration.
